When will Cyprus restaurants reopen

Restaurants in Cyprus will reopen on 21st of May 2020 (us too)
On this day all restrictions of the movement of citizens are lifted too as described on the announcement regarding the gradual easing of lockdown measures, second phase (find it here).

From this day (21st of May 2020) and until 9th of June 2020 restaurants in Cyprus will be able to serve people only in outside, open and uncovered areas. From the 9th of June 2020 they will be allowed to put people inside the restaurant as well.

Special instructions for organizing dining areas

  • Announcements should be placed at the entry points to inform customers for the simple protection measures (distance 2 meters), personal hygiene (good hand washing and disinfection, avoidance of  sneezing and coughing)

  • The maximum number of people allowed is calculated based on the outdoor area. One person per 2 square meters excluding employees.

  • The maximum number of people inside (for after 9th of June) is one person per 3 square meters. The maximum number of people per table is 10.

  • Employees who serve the public must limit the conversation with customers as much as they can.

  • Use of mask and gloves by all staff is mandatory.

  • It is not allowed to operate playgrounds in dining areas.

  • It is not allowed to operate the bars that are part of the restaurant. Drinks you order will be served to your table.

These are only a few of the important directions for the restaurants issued by the Cyprus ministry of health. You can find the full list with the directions here if you like. I know it is written in Greek, but we weren’t able to find this announcement in English. You can translate it online if you must on Google translate for example
